So it just came to my attention that Tractor Supply sells baby ducks and chickens at their stores and online to be shipped as if they were merchandise to anyone over the age of 18. This is not ok.

It is cruel to be storing and shipping these poor animals to people. Especially to some of those who have zero idea how to raise them.  

I know someone who has seen these baby chicks and they are not always properly taken care of.  Some even die in there boxes while being shipped.

There have also been many comments regarding the shipment of the ducklings on the Tractor Supply Co. website:

“Within a week of receiving ducklings, 7 of them died. No way to tell if the last 3 will survived. We fed them correctly and housed them indoors. Not good”

“I ordered 10 and within a few days 4 were dead. 4 weeks later i have one left and it cant walk. I guess they are shipping a new batch. I gave them a heat lamp, water and duckling feed. This is my third time raising ducklings and ive never had even one die before”

”3 ducks arrived dead. My kids were horrified. Last time i ordered ducks they came overnight, no dead babies. Not so lucky order from tractor supply.”

“One of the ducklings arrived not alive. After seeing my ducklings arrive with one being deceased, I could not believe that animals are allowed to be shipped this way.”

This is so sad and breaks my heart. I’m not sure exactly what else to do but I thing getting this petition going is a start.
