At Last! Thank you!! to everyone who signed our petition, calling on Toyota to stop suing us and buy back our unsafe lemon car. I'm happy to tell you Toyota has finally done the right thing -- thanks to all of you, and also our attorney, who never wavered, even when the chips were down.
After two years of legal battles, Toyota finally bought back our unsafe 2013 RAV4 lemon, which had left me stranded over and over again. They replaced it with a brand new 2017 RAV 4, and also paid some fees. Here John and I are, with our new RAV4 and our son, who wasn't even born yet when this whole ordeal started.
Under Georgia's lemon law, Toyota has to brand the title of the lemon RAV4 a "manufacturer buyback," to help alert consumers about the car's history. They also have to repair the defects and provide at least a 12-month warranty.
I hope that Toyota has learned an important lesson, and will treat other military families with the fairness and respect they deserve.
We are so grateful to all of you for speaking up and helping make a positive difference!
Sincerely,
Christina Snell
