Per Toy Mountain, the pandemic has increased the need for donated toys, even now - almost 2 years in. I know we can all agree that every child deserves fair treatment, and gifts at Christmas. 

Even though any person can be handed a cup from Tim Hortons' staff at the drive-thru, mask-free, Toy Mountain chooses not to hand a box to parents without proof of vaccination. Even though anyone can enter a restaurant to order food, Toy Mountain chooses not to treat all children-in-need equally. Even though anyone can use a restaurant or publicly-funded washroom, Toy Mountain chooses not to leave a box of toys at the door for a parent upon arrival. Their mandate is to provide toys to children in need, yet they will not provide them to all children - just some. 

NEW FOR 2021: Toy Mountain will now ONLY give toys to people who present a proof of vaccination or exemption at the door. An exemption doesn't protect Toy Mountain staff from catching a virus but distancing does, so let's not treat people differently who are already struggling. Let's ask Toy Mountain to allow ALL parents in need to pick up gifts for their children. Let's treat all humans with dignity (the way we'd like to be treated ourselves - 'do unto others') especially at this time of year.
