The Issue
Tell the Senate Armed Services Committee to Approve the Toxic Exposure Medal of Military Merit!
- The pride all service members feel in the medals, awards and decorations received is undeniable. It’s a way for our nation and history to remember the honor, integrity, service and sacrifice of countless men and women who selflessly defended freedom and democracy. Unfortunately, a massive void still exists in recognition; that void is those who have been wounded, injured or died as a result of toxic exposure outside of direct contact with the enemy.
- With congressional efforts like the recently passed PACT ACT, many toxically exposed veterans from the Vietnam era to the modern war fighter like Iraq and Afghanistan can now more easily receive the disability benefits they earned. However, the void of proper recognition still persists.
- The Toxic Exposure Medal of Military Merit would justly fill that void and provide true recognition to veterans ranging from the trenches of World War I, the theatres of World War II, the jungles of Vietnam, the burn pits of Iraq and Afghanistan and beyond.
By signing this petition, you are telling the Senate Armed Services Committee to approve the Toxic Medal of Military Merit and finally provide proper recognition to millions of American Military Heroes.
