WESTPORT CITIZENS AGAINST THE PROPOSED CELL TOWER AT 92 GREENS FARMS ROAD
Tarpon Tower II, AT&T and Verizon are proposing to construct a new 124 FOOT TALL cell phone tower on a residential lot at 92 Greens Farms Road in Westport, CT
The proposed cell tower will be a 124 FOOT TALL monopole within a gravel fenced equipment compound - literally in the homeowner’s backyard at 92 Greens Farms Road - in the heart of the historically significant Greens Farms area of Westport
The proposed cell tower will NEGATIVELY IMPACT THE QUALITY OF LIFE of all of the residents of Westport:
-The HISTORIC CHARACTER of the Greens Farms neighborhood will be ADVERSELY IMPACTED. (see attached report below from the Westport Historical District Commission)
-The Westport Conservation Department has raised SIGNIFICANT ENVIRONMENTAL CONCERNS associated with the tower’s location, proximity to the tidal basin of the Long Island Sound, and its IMPACT on water quality, wetlands, watercourses, flood plains, aquifers, estuarine embayments and drainage. (letter attached to this petition below)
-The aesthetic nature of the community with be indelibly altered by this 124 FOOT TALL EYESORE at one of the key gateways to the Compo Beach area-PLEASE SIGN THIS PETITION TO LET OUR TOWN REPRESENTATIVES KNOW THAT YOU DO NOT SUPPORT THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 124 FOOT TALL CELL TOWER AT 92 GREENS FARMS ROAD, AND THE TOWN OF WESTPORT SHOULD TAKE ALL POSSIBLE MEASURES TO OPPOSE THIS PROJECT!
