Update - 5 days left for submissions on the Community Land Management Plan Review

Thank you everyone for all your amazing support in our campaign to Save the Walkerville YMCA. There are only five days left to send in submissions to the Town of Walkerville on their proposed changes to the Community Land Management Plan. Don't wait, send in your response now to let council know how you benefit from community recreation programs and that the community land status should be retained for future generations.
The health stat's in South Australia are alarming, 62.9% of adults in Adelaide are classified as overweight or obese, while 11.0% over 18 years have diabetes and the rates escalate with age as 31.4% of males and 20.8% of females 75 years and over have diabetes in SA. Emotional wellbeing, mental health and social isolation are rising community issues and can all improved through regular physical activity and social connectedness. We need more opportunities for physical activity year round in a supportive environment.
A preventative approach to public health through regular physical activity, can ease the growing burden on government at all levels with escalating health costs. Lets keep our community facility and grow our community participation. Send your submission to walkerville@walkerville.sa.gov.au before 5pm Thursday 7th November 2019.
