Voters 4 Voiceless started this petition to Town of North Hempstead and

To our elected officials:  Town Supervisor Jennifer DeSena, Town Clerk Ragini Srivastava, Town Councilwoman Mariann Dalimonte,Town Councilwoman Veronica Lurvey, Town Councilman Robert Troiano, Town Councilman Dennis Walsh, Town Councilman David Adhami, Town Councilman Peter Zuckerman

The Town of North Hempstead is the ONLY town on Long Island that does not have a cat shelter.  Cats are reproducing, starving and dying at an alarming rate on our streets.  We desperately need a cat shelter in North Hempstead.

Most people in the town are not even aware that we don't have a cat shelter.  Our residents pay some of the highest taxes in New York State.  Where do our tax dollars go?  Why is there a shelter for dogs in North Hempstead, and none for cats?

Only our elected officials can stop the ongoing suffering.  Repeated attempts by dedicated animal welfare groups to appeal to these people over the years have gone unheeded.  Now it is time to mobilize the voters and speak out for the voiceless.

Help us hold our elected officials accountable and let's put a stop to this unnecessary and cruel situation.  Your signature shows your support for these unfortunate animals.  Together we can make a difference!
