PROCEED WITH THE CGM POOL RENOVATION AT $23 MILLION

PROCEED WITH THE CGM POOL RENOVATION AT $23 MILLION
The Issue
We, the members of Clinton G. Martin Park located in New Hyde Park, petition the Town of North Hempstead Board to move forward with the current bid set at $23 million to renovate the pool.
On May 1, 2017, at approximately 7pm, the Town of North Hempstead Board discussed the proposed $23 million Clinton G. Martin pool renovation with the residents of New Hyde Park. While we understand that our taxes will be higher we feel that a rebid could potentially lead to a higher cost. A cost none of us want to bear.
The most important thing that we want is for this pool to be closed for one season. We understand that there is no guarantee that we will have this pool open on time even with penalties but it's a risk we are willing to take.
The one thing we can guarantee though is that any delay in the start of this project will result in a minimum 2 year closure and it will not guarantee us a cheaper price.
Again we ask that you move forward with the current plan.
Thank You.
