The Town of Mount Airy will be making a decision on December 5, 2016 at 7PM (Town Hall) regarding a proposed new ordinance (No. 2016-18) that will allow legal firearm businesses and dealers in residential zones within town limits. Current zoning allows firearm sales in commercial zones; we are encouraging those that would like to sell firearms to consider one of the many empty storefronts in Mt. Airy.

Changing the zoning laws to allow firearm sales in residential zones will have long-term effects on our Town. Selling of firearms from our homes will attract individuals without a vested interest in our town and are here only for firearms in our neighborhoods. Residential zones will also resemble commercial zones (e.g. traffic, parking, customers, etc.).
