Save Middleton Golf Course started this petition to Middleton Town Administrator Andrew Sheehan and

Two years ago, in 2019, Middleton Golf Course shut down. The land was sold to the Town of Middleton with the idea being the property would be used for DPW, Fire & Police Stations and green area.

We believe Middleton lost something. We hope it's not too late to get it back.

Middleton Golf Course should be brought back to life as a town asset. The course will create revenue, as well as provide a great, safe place for juniors, seniors, or anyone wanting to learn the game of golf.

Middleton Golf Course is an incredible piece of property that, as a golf course, would provide the town with a great asset.

My suggestion is to open 9 holes in 2021, along with practice putting greens and driving range.

Special rates for Middleton residents including junior & senior programs. We could also offer a permanent home for the North Shore's First Tee Program.

"First Tee is an international youth development organization introducing the game of golf and its inherent values to kids and teens. Through after-school and in-school programs, we help shape the lives of young people from all walks of life by reinforcing values like integrity, respect, and perseverance through the game of golf. And it’s making a difference."

Full disclosure: I am biased. I grew up on Middleton Golf Course and, back then, could not imagine a world without MGC. Now, I've seen it and don't like it. I believe a coalition of like-minded individuals can volunteer to help re-open the course. We could have it ready by August and will prove that it makes financial sense, as well as community sense, to re-open this beautiful golf course.
