Many local skaters and skaters from all over the island don’t have a place they can go to meet new people and hang out and enjoy the sport of skateboarding. We don’t have any bad intentions and we just want to have fun doing what we love. Skateboarding is a sport and was in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics. Kids that play football, soccer, etc. all have a field or place to practice and the skaters are limited to places to practice our hobby and sport we love. 

I have to travel over 45 minutes to get to a skatepark and it’s ridiculous. I know many people feel the same way and we need to stick together. There’s a beautiful property in bluepoint and we call it the wastelands. My friends and I all bring our own ramps and we try to get by with what we have. We have fixed the place up best of our ability and it would be a dream come true if a skatepark was brought to Bluepoint. There is a memorial of a friends loved one and I’m sure the family would be extremely thrilled to see skaters having fun in the same place the son once did. This has been a controversy for years and the town has never went out of they’re way to build the skatepark.

If we get a city employee to pass the skatepark we can get in touch with the Tony Hawk foundation and we can get to work. They build skateparks every single day.

To my community of skaters and to those that love watching the sport, we need to stick together and pass this petition and let’s get a move on with this skatepark. Everyone would enjoy it and the town can even charge us 5$. I would pay that any day to do something I love. It’s easy just sign the petition and let’s see how far this can go!!!!
