I apologize sincerely to the people who have signed this petition, but have had to close it because of misinformation. 

Klassic Kennels does NOT, in fact, offer 24/7 service, UNLESS there is an emergency situation, where upon an officer can be dispatched.

I have no doubt that many of you have now lost faith in my efforts and may not sign any revised petition I write proposing another solution, and I don't blame you.

However I still believe the the Town of Innisfail needs a better animal control policy than what currently exists.  There were over 100 signatures on this petition collected in less than 36 hours which suggests to me that there is a passionate and growing interest in coming up with a solution that better serves the animals in our town.

The Wild Rose Humane Society in Didsbury was started and grew to a successful animal shelter within a few short years, in a town that had half the population of Innisfail.  I don't see why Innisfail can't be successful in a similar endeavour.

In conclusion, I'm sorry I put the cart before the horse with this petition, but I hope that the momentum started here is not lost. There are a lot of residents of Innisfail who are concerned about the lost and stray animals in our town.  Is there someone out there with more experience or ideas that can try again?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I write this petition as a devoted animal rescuer, deeply troubled by the precarious situation in which lost and injured animals find themselves in our town of Innisfail. The lack of extended and weekend services has resulted in countless missing pets, never reunited with their anxious families simply due to the deficiency of animal control services our town currently offers.

We demand better for our community's pets and strays. It's time to expand and improve the current animal control services, and Klassic Kennels is perfectly equipped to do this job.

Klassic Kennels not only offers an animal control but also a rescue facility, which operates 24/7 to attend to lost and found animals' needs. Their extended hours of service ensure that no lost pet goes unseen or unattended, no matter the day or time.

Statistics show that out-of-office hours are when the majority of stray and lost pets are found (source: National Lost Pet Survey), thus substantiating the need for Innisfail to contract 24/7 animal services to Klassic Kennels.

We cannot stand aside while innocent animals suffer due to timing or resource constraints. I implore you, as a fellow animal lover and citizen of Innisfail, to sign this petition and demand the town council contract their animal control services to Klassic Kennels. Let us ensure that every missing pet gets a chance at finding home again. Sign this petition and make a difference for Innisfail's pets.
