In October of 2019, in the town of Fairfield, CT, a local sweets shop, “Saugatuck Sweets” set up the “Tree of Hope” a beautifully decorated and illuminated tree dedicated to “Children in Need”. This tree gave inspiration to all the people that gazed on it. But recently, they were asked to take it all down based on some “complaints”. Here is the post from “Saugatuck Sweets” explaining what has happened:

“It saddens me deeply that due to several complaints regarding the American flags, tree of hope lights & signage on the green that the Town of Fairfield has asked us to remove all of the above today. We have removed everything as per their request. The tree of hope will not be lit moving forward. If you would like more information regarding this move...I would suggest that you speak with your elected representatives.“
