Save Pine Manor College Campus

Save Pine Manor College Campus
The Issue
Pine Manor College is in Danger--the Town of Brookline, Massachusetts wants to seize through eminent domain, 7-8 acres of the Pine Manor College Campus to build a new public school. Should a school of higher learning be sacrificed as an easy fix for finding a new school site? Without advance notice, the town put on its meeting agendas discussion to explore this possible legal action. Pine Manor is a co-educational, extremely diversified liberal arts college located in suburban Boston on the former Dane estate. Many of the campus buildings embrace the bucolic campus setting. Incorporated historic structures were actively preserved, including the Ferry Administration Building, a fine example of Richardsonian architecture. The desired acreage would carve out the heart of the campus. Pine Manor has long been a community partner to provide town access to campus grounds for recreational walking, contributes to the town tax rolls, despite being a non-profit educational facility. Please sign this petition to ask the town council to rethink this location and find another solution.
