Indian Hill Park is a dedicated town parkland in the town of Bedford, NY. It is located on Indian Hill Road in Bedford Village. Verizon wants to build a cell tower in the park, which would require the town of Bedford to abandon part of the park as town parkland. This would be devastating for the entire community of Bedford and the natural ecosystem of the park. Cell towers are unsightly, decrease property values for all homes in the vicinity, disturb wetlands, pollute drinking water, and take away passive parkland for town residents and others to enjoy. The park also is also home to riding trails. We do not only oppose a cell tower in Indian Hill Park, we are opposed to any cell towers built in Bedford. As a historical site and home to incredible nature, we believe cell towers will disrupt our town wholly for the worse. As much as we oppose the building of cell towers in any part of Bedford, building a cell tower in dedicated town parkland is the worst possible choice. Signing this petition shows the town of Bedford that its residents are opposed to this cell tower, and will help the town block Verizon's attempts to ruin our neighborhoods.
