As of January 29, 2022, there are currently 337 signatures on the petition to restore the Stone House.  Thank you.

It will be a month before I can put updates on Save The Stone House at Mountain View Cemetery because Facebook has put me in fb jail.

Why? you ask. Because I posted Chuck Unroe's work telephone number on fb and asked you to call him to let your opinions be heard.

Well clearly he wasn't pleased. The "Community Standards" of fb state that the only person who can complain about their number being posted is the person who the number belongs to. So either he complained or one of his cronies.  Their standards further state public official's numbers are exempt and can be published.

Either way, fb didn't bother to investigate so they banded me from posting for a month.

Chuck must be getting tired of hearing about the Stone House and the citizens desire to have it restored.  He has put the project on the back burner, but won't say what the other projects ahead of it are.

Additionally, I found documents at the Virginia State Library concerning the funding of the Stone House in 1934. Mayor Wheeler really stood up for the citizens of Clifton Forge and fought for funding under the Federal Emergency Relief Act to employ citizens of Clifton Forge so their families kept a roof over their heads and food in their stomachs. Reading some of the letters written asking for jobs are heartbreaking. A far cry from the reaction of the town manager of today.

So, please continue to share the petition. https://www.change.org/SavetheStoneHouse

Share Chuck Unroe's number and make your thoughts known to him about the restoration and see if you can find out why other projects are ahead of this one. He won't share the information with me.

The history books are still available at squareup.com/store/stewart-goodwin.

Thank you for your help and support to get the Stone House restored.
