This Wednesday Tower Hamlets will decide whether to approve or refuse the over-sized, disproportionate Sainsbury’s development. The development as is stands still lacks affordable housing, damages local heritage and will overwhelm anyone neighbouring it in Whitechapel. The good news is that the Council have recommended that the application be REFUSED! Which is the result of the thousands of people who either wrote a letter, signed this petition or wrote to their MP / councillors. However, the committee will make their own decision and may not follow this advice. So it is essential that you come to the meeting this Wednesday the 21st at 7:00PM to show your opposition to the development and help make sure it is refused! The BBC will be filming for a documentary to be aired in January which will be a great chance to demonstrate the breadth of local and public opposition.
