Why this petition matters

Started by Glenn Irwin

Today the Northern Ireland Tourist board shockingly chose to reject the 800,000 funding package for the Ulster GP & The Northwest 200 as agreed.

Both events add greatly to an array of world class events hosted in Northern Ireland in recent years and their annual contribution to the local economy cannot be over seen.

Northern Ireland is the heart and sole of road racing and one of our most iconic sporting stars Joey Dunlops name is recognised from every corner of the globe.
Fans from all around the world have & continue to travel to both of these unique events steeped in history and May I ask, how many of these fans from far away countries would ever have spent a penny in Northern Ireland without such events.

from a Northwest 200 competitor / a life long fan I ask that TourismNI reconsider their decision to help secure these Iconic : Unique : Growing : Economy boosting events for the foreseeable future.

Many thanks

Glenn Irwin on behalf of all competitors / organisers and fans alone.
