Toughen Safety Laws in Workplace Victoria

The issue

My heart is shattered. My brother went to work on the 29th of April 2025 and never came home. He was only 44 ! His absence echoes through our family, leaving his mother and children with a void that cannot be filled and questions that remain unanswered. We lost an energetic, talented, loyal, and generous person with the biggest heart, whose presence brightened our lives. We call for “Ryan's Law” to ensure that no other family has to endure the pain we are facing.
We miss him terribly and we still have no answers as to why this tragedy occurred!
Workplace deaths are on the rise, and it's an alarming trend that highlights the severe gaps in our safety regulations. This is a stark reminder that more proactive steps are necessary. Every day, someone's loved one is needlessly put at risk because of inadequate safety measures.

"Ryan's Law" is aimed at holding companies accountable by increasing the requirements for safety inspections and mandating comprehensive safety inductions for all employees on worksites. It envisions a workplace environment where each truck and piece of machinery is rigorously and regularly tested, ensuring they meet safety standards.

The accountability must not end with businesses. It is essential that accurate reporting and transparent investigations are carried out to provide affected families the answers they deserve.

This isn’t just a call for policy change; it’s a call for human lives to be given the respect and protection they deserve. By implementing these measures, we honor the memory of my brother and all those who have suffered due to workplace negligence.

Please join us in this fight for justice and safety. Sign this petition to support “Ryan’s Law” and help us bring much-needed change for safer workplaces across the nation. Together, let's make sure that every worker returns home safely to their family. Sign and share this petition today.
