Change the Backwards LED Light Colours on the TTC Line 1 (YUS) Map

The Issue

The TTC Line 1 (YUS) trains have great maps that illuminate the stations with LED lights.  The problem is that the colours used are counterintuitive and defy logic.

Currently, the lights are green for where you've been, and red for where you're going.  Common sense, (or someone who is new to the city/just visiting), would say that GREEN should mean GO to where you're GOING, while red should mean "STOP" e.g. don't get on the train if you want one of these stations because we've already passed them.

I am constantly having to explain it to confused people on the subway, and every time I bring it up in conversation people agree.  How the TTC came up with its current colour scheme makes no sense.

I would say that they should swap the colours, but now that it's been incorrect for so long I think that would cause a lot of confusion if they suddenly swapped.  Instead, I say we have GREEN signify stops where you are GOING and NO LIGHT AT ALL for where you've been.  It doesn't matter where the train has been before you got on, as long as you can see the green lights illuminating where it will be going.

Please sign the petition if you agree that this is a simple change that should be made to ensure clearer wayfinding for everyone who uses the TTC.

Thank you.
