This petition will be forwarded to the Toronto Association of Business Improvement Areas (TABIA) and other organisations that may let their members know of it.

The Canadian 'Top 40' is not a real representation of anyone's preferred music taste. It is an artificial and self-perpetuating corporate marketing strategy to impose generic music onto you - while drowning the thousands of talented voices who go unheard simply because their music is too appealing and would compete with the big money 'chosen ones'. I am not a musician, I have no vested interests in this, I'm just sick and tired of listening to the same songs over and over again. There's nothing wrong with a lot of what makes up the Top 40, but it should not monopolise the radio as it does now. Let's let business owners know that there's a huge number of us out there who would rather not listen to the same 40 songs over and over again! Play anything BUT 'Top 40 - specialist radios'! There's millions of songs out there worth listening to, in a myriad of rhythms and styles! Let's get them to our local stores. Leave your favourite radio station in the comments :)
