For years scooter riders have been parking their scooters for free on the sidewalks of Toronto, however, as of May 14th, 2013, Toronto parking enforcement officers started handing out $50 tickets for doing just that. As long as the scooter isn't impeding pedestrians, what's the problem? And why now?

Riding scooters and mopeds is convenient, it’s economical, and it’s the environmentally friendly thing to do. We ask that Toronto City Council please ask Toronto parking enforcement officers to stop making the lives of scooter riders more difficult immediately!
