Repair Emery C. I.'s Gymnasium

This petition made change with 38 supporters!

For months, students at Emery Collegiate Institute, located in the Emery Village neighborhood in North York, Toronto, Ontario, have had to make do with a gymnasium in disrepair. As a student of Emery C. I., I want to challenge the problems that my peer face, and want the Board to show that they care about the students in our beautiful neighborhood. Since September, the Toronto District School Board has come in to look at the issue twice, and promised to repair the gym, but has failed to do so.

At the TDSB, equity and support for physical and mental health is a top priority. Students cannot stay physically and mentally fit if they feel that they are not getting the resources they deserve. Due to the condition of the gymnasium, Emery C. I.'s sports teams are doing terribly in home games, losing all fall team home games, and are not able to practice properly. This is affecting the school spirit & morale.

If this gymnasium does not get fixed urgently, Emery C. I.'s teams will do bad in future games. Please sign this petition to urge the Director of Education, John Malloy, and our Trustee-elect, Christopher Mammoliti, to push the TDSB to repair our gym, to show that Emery C. I. has a voice; that we deserve to be heard.
