Everywhere you look, there are stray dogs running rampant in Toombs County (Vidalia, Lyons, and Santa Claus), GA. The Animal Control facilities and local rescue groups cannot keep up with the number of stray/unwanted animals in Toombs County. This can be easily prevented by requiring pet owners to spay/neuter their animals. There are already low cost spay-neuter programs in place. The legislation, elsewhere, requiring Spay-Neuter for pet owners has been very successful. This type of legislation can help decrease the population of strays in Toombs County.
