Representatives Byrd, Boyd, Carpenter, Taylor have introduced House Bill 1261 also known as the "Mississippi Regulation of Dangerous Dogs Act." We, the People of Mississippi do not want House Bill 1261 to pass the legislature.

Many residents are speaking out against the discriminatory nature of this law. Other residents are speaking out against the illegality and intrusiveness of this bill. It is discriminatory because it profiles a certain breed of dogs. It is also illegal because it unlawfully permits police officers onto private property and the "right" to illegally kill the animal. The law also protects the police officer if the officer kills the dog.
