Due to the recent developments in contract negotiations it has become apparent that talks between PASSHE, and APSCUF, have not been able to reach a conclusion. Both parties claim to be looking out for the students' best interests, but for things to reach this point begs the question, how much are the students are being kept in mind. In years past, both sides were able to maintain order, and our education proceeded as planned. Now it has become apparent that their decisions impact our education on a much deeper scale than previously thought. The pending strike could cost students their semester, postpone graduation, and lead to a financial loss for most if not all students. Keeping this in mind, it is fair to say, students should have an active voice in these talks in order to help keep their own education in line. I suggest a student body, or some form of official delegation be put together to represent students in times like this. People may argue this is not our business, but recent actions have proven otherwise.
