The Issue

We the undersigned of 1685 members and neighbors of Spring Trails Association, Inc. respectfully request that the Spring Trails Board of Directors vote for a continuance on any amendments, additions or appendixes to the Bylaws and or Code of Conduct of Spring Trails Association, Inc. community, until after January 01, 2018. The request is being made because:

1.     The very Bylaws and Code of Conduct being considered to be changed for a vote by a 5-board membership will have a lasting effect for each and every one of the 1600 plus residence of Spring Trails.

2.     These changes will also effect the value of Spring Trails, its members’ investments, and the quality of life as we know it within our community.

3.     The proposed changes have garnered a majority of opposition and with the BOD communicating publicly that while input is welcome, it is up to 5 board members to decide what is best for the 1600 residence and the health of our community.

4.     A continuance would allow time for the entire association to think through and conduct through debate over any unintended consequences that could arise from any of these changes at this time.

5.     It would give ample time for the documents to be reviewed by outside council if desired by the residents.

6.     It is requested that once the board votes on the proposed changes in January 2018, that the changes be ratified by a resident panel comprised of 21 residents.

7.     The 21 residents will be picked from volunteers in a random drawing monitored by a third party.

8.     A simple majority vote of the residents after a 90-day review of the panels results.

These proposed changes apply to any changes to the Bylaws for Spring Trails Association, Inc.
