We the People of the Philadelphia Phillies Fan Base, in order to form a more perfect broadcast, establish a television experience that doesn’t need to be muted, insure legitimate baseball knowledge from the commentators, provide for the common Phillies fan, promote the general team pride, and secure the passion of Philadelphia baseball to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this petition for the removal of Tom McCarthy from the air.

It’s time for some change, Phillies fans. We’re ALL tired of listening to a guy who calls a ball fair that is 15 yards foul, explain that the Nationals are shutting a team out when it's only the 2nd inning in that game, ask stupid baseball 101 questions and flake out of conversations when the intricacies of baseball are being discussed then deviate into a steady stream of pointless rambling irrelevant to what’s going on in the game. Not a single Phillies fan wants to turn on the TV while the our favorite team is playing and hear enthusiasm in this man’s voice when the opposing team slams one out of the park, bats a few runs in or makes a great defensive play. Enough is enough. We need to bring in a play-by-play broadcaster who has legitimate pride and passion for our baseball team and city. We need to bring someone in who has knowledge of the game beyond tee-ball and stating the obvious. We are a knowledgeable and dedicated fan base and don’t deserve to have our intelligence insulted every time Tom McCarthy’s microphone is live.
