Greetings to residents of Naperville,
Sign this petition today to show your support for a sustainable future and urge the Naperville City Council to adopt a Climate Action and Resilience Plan and pursue cleaner electricity. Your participation brings us closer to making real change in Naperville.
Naperville has an opportunity to take meaningful action toward a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable future. As your constituents, we urge the Naperville City Council to adopt a measure to develop a Climate Action and Resilience Plan (CARP) that specifies greenhouse gas emissions reduction targets and strategies for energy, transportation, buildings, and waste. Furthermore, we call on the City Council to make Naperville's electricity more sustainable by rejecting an extension of the coal-based electricity contract with the Illinois Municipal Electric Agency (IMEA) and begin planning for environmentally friendly alternatives that create local jobs, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, and are cost-effective.
