Delay/Cancel "Digimon Adventure" tri #OperationTriAgain
The Issue
Because we don't trust Toei Animation to make a decent Digimon sequel and want them to quit.
Who the fuck are they? Leave the Digimon logo out of there and show it to somebody who knows nothing about this. He would not be able to recognize them as the digidestined.
Hikari and Sora have the same face
Faces and hairstyles look nothing like the children, the faces look like they have been hit by a shovel.
It’s the first poster in the 15 years history with NO DIGIMON. Showing that there is no emphasis on the Digimon, but on the Digidestined (and the relationships between each other).
The 02 kids aren’t on there either. They have become just as important and integral to the team as the original children.
A Simmilar Poster was made by the artist for another project, shows a lack of creativity and adaption to an different (existing) franchise. You need to adapt at least a little bit or else you’re going to look like an egocentric bastard.
The artist forgot that humans don’t change eye shape, ever, in their lives.
Fanart looks better than the Official art. Making the “professional” look like a beginning 10-year-old fanartist who doesn’t know what he’s doing.
Inconsistency between the silhouettes and the people on the poster.
The Director (Keitaro MOTONAGA) Has mostly done School/Romance, something Digimon isn’t and shouldn’t turn into because it’s about the connection between the Digimon and the Digidestined not the ships or their personal problems at school, no matter how much sites like dA, Pixiv, Tumblr want it to become that (reasons why I’m now on a hiatus because I know I can’t change that.). – if you question whether or not they will do that why would it question if the Digidestined will get together as a team and not if they are still strong enough to safe the Digital world?
Digimon is going for a more “Adult” story. The reason we loved and still love Digimon is because of what it was. A CHILDRENS anime. If Toei changes that because of the heavy shipping, and our age on the internet it’s dead wrong. It should reach out to the new, current generation and we, the older ones, will come along for the ride as well.
Although all staff members have some experience with sequels, they have also worked on the first version when they did the sequel. Since nobody worked on Adventure I do not trust them knowing the things I’ve argued about here. Nobody also has experience with projects as large as Digimon.
I do not blame these people for taking the jobs. I blame Toei for offering it to them while there are so many better people out there. As I see this as a systematic problem that is also caused by the ones hiring people for the projects, I wish to see some change in that.
A delay, after which the entire current crew will be fired and changed with a crew that is capable of producing a decent sequel would also be acceptable.
