Bring Paul McGann and 'The Boy Band' (Peter Davison, Colin Baker, and Sylvester McCoy) to Emerald City Comicon 2015!

The Issue

Paul McGann is an English actor who is highly regarded in Britain for his successful work in various film, television and voice-over work. Diehard fans of the series Doctor Who (known as 'Whovians') would know him as the Eighth Doctor from the Doctor Who movie, the audio dramas by Big Finish and the brilliantly tantalizing prelude The Night of the Doctor. Outside of the 'Whoniverse,' he is known for his iconic performances such as the infamous Percy Toplis in Alan Bleasdale's The Monocled Mutineer, the pitifully anxious Marwood/"I'" in Bruce Robinson's Withnail and I, Golic in Alien 3, sassy Lt. William Bush in the critically-acclaimed Hornblower series, and Talamasca member/vampire fanboy David Talbot in the film adaptation of Anne Rice's Queen of the Damned. Throughout his career, which has spanned over three decades, he has collected quite the considerable fan base (which caused quite the spike after Night of the Doctor's rapid popularity during its premiere in 2013). Not only is he known for his talent, but he is also famous for his kind-hearted, warm personality and legendary hugs that would even make Frozen's Queen Elsa smitten.

Last October, I sent a request via Twitter to my local comicon--Emerald City Comicon, which boasts third in the nation in attendance (behind San Diego Comicon International and New York Comicon)--to bring him to Seattle for the convention at the end of March 2015, along with the affectionately termed 'Boy Band' consisting of Peter Davison, Colin Baker, and Sylvester McCoy, who played the 5th, 6th, and 7th Doctors from the 'Classic' Doctor Who series respectively, and have recently gained popularity with their satirical short, The Five(ish) Doctors. I have heard and read about so many wonderful experiences from fans across various social media websites on how kind and even hilarious these men are when they are together or even individually, not to mention they have quite the stories to tell and topics to discuss! Fans from past ECCCs have even cosplayed as these four, so you know there are fans up here who would love to see them!

I know there isn't much time left, but since it has been a dream of mine and several fans to meet these men and express our appreciation and gratitude for them, it would mean a lot to me if you would welcome these guys to the Pacific Northwest so others can meet them and do the same 'paradox-free' and in the flesh! To do so, please contact the convention's Celebrity Operations Director, Todd Jones, here.

Let's give our doctors a new adventure and bring them to the Emerald City! Please and thank you!
