This petition is to ask leaders of all countries to demand the closure of live meat markets and cruel slaughtering of animals in China and any other nation practising this tradition. The world knows the current situation started in Wuhan, one of the capitals of wet and live markets. Recently China has apparently not reported new COVID-19 cases, and the trading of live meat markets have restarted already.

We all know the original source of COVID-19 is thought to have started with bats and animals infected through bats in one of these markets and it was then passed to humans, causing the spread to multiply at such speed that now we are in this global pandemic disaster. Not only causing an enormous economic crisis around the world but thousands of deaths, and unnecessary pain to all.

These wet and live markets don’t have any sort of health and safety infrastructure, are filthy and disgustingly run, where live animals are kept in inhuman and terrible conditions, some in cages, some killed live in extremely dirty places reproducing bacteria of all sorts. Due to extremely poor or no sanitation whatsoever, diseases and pestilence of all sorts was due to be born.

It is time to work together to stop this! Otherwise when? This situation must awaken us all to act now. This pandemic has caused such incredible damage on all the countries around the world. It is now the moment to come together for once and for all, to educate, to learn, to act and to strengthen together so these human’s mistakes won’t happen again. And if they are due to happen, to try to avoid them by learning from the past, taking action, and doing more!

This petition is to ask all world leader’s administrations, not just the few addressed here, but to all leaders around the world to put pressure on the Chinese Government so he will demand it’s people to stop these live markets of all sorts of animals. For this to be shut down to ensure safety not only for all animals, domestic and wild but for humanity.

Markets where dogs, cats and other domestic animals are cruelly killed or cooked alive. Where frogs, snakes, guinea pigs, rats, otters, hedgehogs, badgers, turtles, even wolf cubs are kept live in dirty bloody wet places. Where all sorts of animals are cruelly slaughtered. Though the Chinese government has “apparently” put a ban of wildlife trade, it isn’t enough.

All animals including dogs and cats must be included in this ban. Please we urge you to act, to come together and do something now! Not only for the unacceptable killing and trade of live animals but for all humans in the world. Look what this have caused to all of us! I believe that if all world’s leaders, and organisations work together we can surely achieve something to stop it!
