Right at this moment there is an authorized stray dogs’ slaughter happening in Yakutsk Russia. Local authorities have come up with the  initiative to cut down (or rather completely wipe out) the population of stray dogs in Yakutsk / Russia by paying volunteers ( around  1500 Russian rubles) for hunting down strays and killing them. The situation with the strays ‘ve been out of control there for decades with little to nothing done to improve it. These kinds of atrocities is a common practice for the local authorities and have been taken place rather regularly in the last few years.

I hereby, include a few links to the videos demonstrating the violent actions being taken against stray animals whose conditions of living in that climatic zone are already  outrageously poor let alone the current  hell of culling  inflicted on them by the mayor’s initiative.

The videos are from the channel run by a volunteer dog rescuer who’s made it her mission to save Yakutian dogs, bring them to Moscow, find  shelters and eventually adoption families. She’s been desperately trying to raise awareness of cruelty and indifference of the locals towards the needs of  hopelessly rising stray dogs’ population  in the city of Yakutsk. Despite constantly struggling financially she’s trying to raise an alarm and  bring attention to the serious problem of basic animal right violations thriving through out the area.
