There should be a Council Planning Requirement for any new or refurbished retail unit over a certain square footage to build a Changing Places Toilet with Bench and Hoist. Retailers need to take more community responsibility.....Finding more commercial providers such as the shopping centres, large national retailers to take CPs on and make them an essential part of their layouts and facilities would be the most appropriate way. It would generate competition within the retail / leisure industry where profit and reputation speak volumes. It would also provide working examples of successful installation and management, give a chance to study use and provide this information to government for them to actually take it on board and see the supporting evidence, cost benefit analysis and general buy in from the commercial sector.
