We the undersigned residents of Ulster County want to voice our strong support for the proposed Ulster County law that would establish standards of care and periodic inspections of the facilities of dog breeders who operate within Ulster County.

The recent discovery of the horrific conditions on the premises of a registered AKC breeder of Shetland Sheepdogs underscores the need for the passage of this legislation.

As the Ulster County SPCA pointed out, had this legislation already been in place, these unfortunate animals would have obtained relief much sooner. We urge you to pass this legislation now!
