Dear supporters,

Thank you for staying subscribed to email updates and for supporting our campaign. More than 4500 of you are angry that a 24hr casino has been given the go ahead in Palmers Green and your determined support in writing to councillors, our MP and the leader of the council has rewarded us with the review we’ve been waiting for. However, the outcome is uncertain.

If you live in the N13 and N21 postcodes and particularly in Palmers Green, you will certainly be affected by issues surrounding the opening of a 24hr slots arcade and have one last chance to make an objection.

Our campaign group has already sent our submission to the licensing team and I am now writing a final, urgent reminder to you to make your representations to the licensing committee by TOMORROW 18 May 2021.

THIS IS OUR LAST CHANCE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE!

Please remember:

In order to validate the representation, the Licensing Team must only accept representations with full names and full addresses. In the published report for the licensing sub-committee hearing, all sensitive data, including names and addresses will be redacted. The only information that may be shared with the licence holder is the road names of those persons making representations.

The representation should be emailed to licensing@enfield.gov.uk. The subject line of the e-mail should contain the address of the premises and quote in the email subject line ‘Review Application for Bingo Premises – Merkur Slots 292-292A Green Lanes’.

There are only two legal objections we can make: the potential for crime and disorder and the potential for harm to children and vulnerable adults including homeless people, gambling addicts and people with mental health problems. The hearing will focus on these issues but you may wish to add any other concerns you have about the proliferation of gambling premises etc.

See past updates for inspiration for your letters or the template we provided. You can also find us on Facebook or twitter

We can now only cross our fingers for a positive result from the hearing on JUNE 16th

Thanks for your continued support in helping us to make it GAME OVER! for Merkur slots.

Please stay subscribed to hear what happens next!
