Do you remember when the BBC tried to close 6Music? The men in suits tried to get rid of it. After uproar it was saved, and just this week they had their best-ever ratings. The BBC are making the same mistake again with BBC3. A channel that has more viewers than Radio 1 has listeners, is more loved by viewers than BBC1, and appeals to young viewers better than anyone other BBC channel. Don’t take my word for it – the BBC Trust figures state all of this. This week Rona Fairhead, the lady in charge of the BBC Trust group, said she wanted to give the public more of a say in the running of the BBC rather than the “small elite” who run the BBC. She said she’s not going to be a “cheerleader for the BBC”. If she’s genuine about that she will help us #saveBBC3 so it remains on TV and without the big cuts. At the end of the day she makes the final decision. We have just 10 days to make our voices heard. If you’re like me you’ll hate the idea of letting a few overpaid men in suits in London make decisions that affect millions of others across the country. They tried to take away 6Music, now it's BBC3. I want you to take action. Sign the official BBC Trust consultation and shout about how others can take action too. This is the all-important link you need: http://bit.ly/1C1JjEh I’m also going to invite you in the coming days to an event in London too. Keep watching this space. Our voices will be heard.
