Ukrainian actors must be included in every movie!

We, the Ukrainian Motion Picture Association, are writing to the President of the Festival, Ms. Iris Knobloch.

The Cannes Film Festival is one of the most anticipated cinematic events of the year.

The world is insufficiently informed about the struggles of Ukraine, and through cinema the depth of our people's pain can be deeply conveyed.

The rights of Ukrainians are constantly being undermined. Therefore, we urge that every film should feature a Ukrainian actor alongside racial or ethnic groups, women, people with disabilities, and the LGBTQ+ community. At the very least, one of the lead roles or a significant supporting role.

Such an initiative would undoubtedly attract potential audiences to the festival's films.
