To take more stringent measures to curb the use of Plastic as its harming animals & soil

The Issue

We students and residents of Delhi are writing to express our deep concern regarding the extensive use and irresponsible disposal as well as unscientific recycling  of single-use plastic in our city. Single-use plastic has emerged as a grave environmental and humanitarian crisis, and its unchecked proliferation is causing significant harm to our environment, stray animals, and the health of our planet.

  • The problem is only the unscientific and careless disposal of plastic many areas of Delhi especially in North Campus area shopkeeper and roadside vendors are giving completely non recyclable plastic which are transparent in nature. The more problem arises with   these non labeled covers and packing material in hotels as they harm not only environment or Animals but also Human health by intaking  in small amount.
  •  Coming to the disposal part these waste are not even source segregated All the wet waste dry waste are mixed together and they are not thrown in dustbin instead they are collected roadside and these waste along with plastic are consumed by local stray animals like cows or dogs.
  • Local collectors are also not even aware that it should be source segregated and this cause segregated waste to become a mixture of all kind of materials including e-waste, plastic as well as bio degradable one also.

As we are the future generations, It our high time to analyze and think about this serious issue we are facing with plastic and its unscientific  use and disposal .The problem is with everyone around us and we don’t believe the larger population will correct things by themselves. They need the push of law.

  • The proper guidelines extensive public awareness campaign to educate residents, businesses, and local collectors.
  • Implementing stringent measures, regulations, and penalties to reduce the production, distribution, and ban of single-use plastic below the standards items within the city,

People are thinking economy is today’s concern, ecology is tomorrow’s concern. No – ecology is today’s concern. Experts are saying Delhi can be most population city in the world by 2050 as population concerns plastic also concern us. The climate change and energy cries are alarming warning to us. We eagerly anticipate the opportunity to join hands and make a positive change for our environment and protect its biodiversity.
