Southwark council are trying to now set up a road closure on Peckham rye which will stop all traffic from driving down Peckham Rye (East) and turning right onto East Dulwich Road. Peckham Rye (west) already has a no right turn onto East Dulwich Road. 

This road closure also means that no traffic coming down from Peckham Rye Common would be able to drive straight across the crossroads and have access into the Peckham Rye one way system. There is currently no right turn from East Dulwich Road into Peckham Rye (West) except for buses. 

This road closure would cause havoc for local residents to get around (Not everyone wants to or is able to cycle/walk) and would also mean all the traffic would be forced into smaller streets around Bellenden road and also be pushed onto East Dulwich Road which is already suffering from all the other road closures that have been set up. 

These road closures are not acceptable and have only contributed to more traffic jams then ever before.
