They want to kill 6,000 wolves to boost the caribou herds numbers by 240 every five years in the oilsands area.
There is scientific evidence proving that a large responsibility of the declining numbers is the amount of industrialisation in the area, but it is the wolves who are going to pay for this, as they are the most cost effective way of saving the herds in peril.

Stop the large scale killing of wolves to boost caribou numbers in Canada

They want to kill 6,000 wolves to boost the caribou herds numbers by 240 every five years in the oilsands area.
There is scientific evidence proving that a large responsibility of the declining numbers is the amount of industrialisation in the area, but it is the wolves who are going to pay for this, as they are the most cost effective way of saving the herds in peril, despite scientific evidence that proves the killing of wolves could have disastrous consequences. Wolves in the region have a diet that is 80% deer. If 6,000 wolves die, then the deer population is going to explode, and the caribou are going to lose habitat and feed. this is more likely to result in the declining of their herds than the Oil Sands possibly. And may even be what pushes the Boreal caribou into extinction.
