Save the Wigwams

Save the Wigwams
The Issue
Save Strathfillan Wigwams.
Strathfillan Wigwams was the first glamping site in the UK. Established 27 years ago, we have provided affordable accommodation for all who want to enjoy the great outdoors in comfort.
With its unique location on the West Highland Way, the business quickly grew. Since opening, we have catered for thousands of visitors, many of whom return year on year to enjoy the facilities, local landscape and the famous Highland hospitality.
In January this year, our parent company, SRUC, proposed closing the site down. Since then, we have been involved in a redundancy process
Unfortunately, despite a serious application by a 3rd party to save the site, the decision was taken to close the site this year, despite staycations looking more popular than ever as the country comes out of the global pandemic.
Naturally, we will be devastated to lose our jobs on a site we hold dear. But to compound our misery, some of us who live on the site will also lose our homes. So, we ask you to support this petition to see whether the Scottish Government and SRUC can come together to see whether they can find a suitable solution that wull save our site, our jobs and our homes and will allow us to play a vital part in our local community
