The Issue

St. Andrew’s CE Primary School is a small village school with a highly-respected Head of School. Our children are thriving and excelling academically under her leadership.

St. Andrew’s is part of the Learn-Academies Trust. After a huge expansion (from 11 to 19 schools in 23/24), Learn-AT is restructuring the senior leadership across its schools.

For St. Andrew’s, this will mean the loss of our Head of School who has been instrumental in creating a caring and high-performing school:

Under her leadership, the school has grown year on year. St. Andrew’s has been able to re-open its preschool which is a huge asset for the local community
Last year, St. Andrew’s was recognised for being in the top 1% of primary schools nationally for achievement in reading, writing and mathematics (Key Stage 2 SATS)
The school’s strong reputation has seen the Reception intake become consistently fully subscribed and is a draw for young families moving into the area.

The Trust has failed to engage in any meaningful way with parents despite multiple requests. We have asked the Trust to explain why the restructure is justified for St. Andrew’s and how it will benefit St. Andrew’s pupils’ education and wellbeing – the Trust has not been able to do this.

When the local governing body expressed concern about the restructure, the Trust suspended the governors.

We need Learn-Academies Trust to reverse its decision and ensure St. Andrew’s and its pupils continue to thrive for many years to come!

Please help us stand up to Learn-Academies Trust by adding your name to this petition and sharing it with others!
