To fund life-saving CGMs for 26,000 people living with Type 1 Diabetes in New Zealand

The issue

Please sign this petition to fund life-saving Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) technology for the 26,000 New Zealanders living with Type 1 Diabetes in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

These devices read blood glucose levels 24-7. The small sensors worn on the body are funded throughout the developed world, including Australia and the UK.

A lack of funding has created a massive inequity in access to CGM’s in Aotearoa, New Zealand.

The devices have the ability to save lives by alerting when blood glucose levels are dangerously high or low. They reduce the burden on individuals, families, and the health system - and improve overall health outcomes.

Type 1 Diabetes is an auto immune condition with no known cause and no known cure.

We have come to change.org, the World’s platform for change, as Our petition has been declined by the Parliamentary Petitions Committee due to similarities with a petition three years ago, despite the fact that we presented 10 distinct differences.

It is no longer acceptable that every child and person living with Type 1 Diabetes in Australia has full access to Continuous Glucose Monitoring, yet in New Zealand we continue to wait.

We need action, and we need it now.

Please note: no donations necessary, our campaign does not receive funds, we just want your support via petition.
