This petition was started as a way to help bring an affordable housing program for artists to  Annapolis, Maryland. With calendar events dedicated to the growth and development of the arts (i.e. The First Sunday Arts Festival or the Kunta Kinte Festival) and community development programs such as the Annapolis Arts District You can see how dedicated this city is to the arts and it’s artists.

It is the belief of this petition that an affordable housing program would benefit not only artist but the City of Annapolis as well. This program would provide artist in the Annapolis area with a safe, comfortable, affordable space to live and development their crafts. 

 By making use of space no longer in use (i.e. rundown hotels or apartment complexes) and working with the Annapolis Arts District, Maryland General Assembly, Annapolis Housing Authority, and Planning & Zoning we can make this idea a reality.
