The Issue

We call on the city officials of Palm Coast, FL, to listen to the needs and desires of their community by providing the residents with a concrete skate park. If you believe in promoting an active lifestyle and supporting a culture that values sports, family, and community, please sign this petition to make a skate park in Palm Coast a reality.

In Palm Coast, FL, a bustling and ever-growing city, the need for a concrete skate park has never been more pressing. Palm Coast, the largest city in Flagler County, lacks a dedicated space for skateboarding enthusiasts to practice their sport and build community. Every week, countless residents find themselves traveling to distant cities such as Jacksonville and Ormond Beach just so they can skateboard. This not only consumes time and resources but also reflects the lack of proper facilities in our own backyard and laws against skating in the streets.

Skateboarding isn't just a leisurely activity; it's a vibrant culture and now an Olympic sport, gaining popularity among various age groups. From children to older skaters aged 30 to 55 and beyond, skateboarding caters to a wide demographic, including families where parents can enjoy quality time and exercise with their children. The construction of a concrete skate park in Palm Coast will provide a much-needed recreational outlet, encourage an active lifestyle, and allow skaters to unite as part of a community.

A skate park can be transformative, offering our youth an alternative to getting into trouble and fostering a sense of belonging. With a dedicated space to skate, our community can further support physical activity that is inclusive, family-friendly, and health-oriented.

Given Palm Coast's rapid expansion, the city should prioritize creating inclusive recreational infrastructure that meets the needs of its citizens. A local skate park would not only reduce the travel burden for skaters but also curb the frustrations arising from the current lack of facilities.

Please sign the petition to get the residents of Palm Coast, FL a concrete Skate Park.
