Tivim is asking the Congress leadership to listen to its grassroots workers before deciding the candidate for the 2027 Goa Assembly Elections.

Shivdas “Shiva” Kambli is a longstanding grassroots political worker from Tivim. He has served as Sarpanch of Tivim Village Panchayat, Block President of the Tivim Block Congress Committee, and has had a longstanding association with ward-level public life in Bodiem, Tivim.

For many local Congress workers and supporters, the 2022 Assembly election remains an important point of discussion. Congress fielded Aman Lotlikar from Tivim, while supporters of Shiva Kambli say that a long-serving grassroots worker was overlooked.

Now, as the 2027 Goa Assembly Elections approach, we believe the time has come for the Congress leadership to listen directly to the people and workers of Tivim.

Supporters point to Shiva Kambli's longstanding political and organisational work, including his association with senior local Congress leaders and his involvement in previous electoral campaigns.

The demand is particularly being raised by supporters across generations, including senior citizens, women, youth and younger voters, who want the grassroots voice of Tivim to be considered.

OUR DEMAND

We respectfully appeal to Shri Rahul Gandhi Ji, the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee and the senior Congress leadership to:

Give Shivdas “Shiva” Kambli a fair and serious consideration for the Congress ticket from the Tivim Assembly Constituency for the 2027 Goa Assembly Elections.

We are not asking Congress to ignore its internal democratic process.

We are asking Congress to hear Tivim before making the decision.
