I am gathering signatures so the City of Parma Heights, OH will set in place all necessary laws/ordinances to protect companion animals in the community.  Currently, there are no laws protecting companion animals from being neglected, abused and tortured.  Animals can be left tethered, penned and forced to live outside 24 hours a day 7 days a week in all weather conditions.  There is no regard for these helpless victims in this city. 

I know the city can do better for these creatures.  I know we need laws/ordinances in the books to help protect them.  We need the law director and city officials to step up and make it illegal to chain, tether, pen and force animals to live outdoors in the city.

Animals are social creatures that thrive when part of a loving family, not left in a pen alone, scared and vulnerable.  Ohio and the City of Cleveland have such protections, Parma Heights needs to be added to that as caring for it's companion animals.

An ordinance that simply addresses one of these aspects of neglect and abuse will not be enough to protect them.  All aspects of abuse need to be included in a law/ordinance. 

Please help the animals of Parma Heights, Ohio. They all deserve to feel safe and protected while living in the city.
