We are now over 100,000 supporters strong, taking a stand for our planet, by asking Tim Hortons’ parent corporation Restaurant Brand International to make and use a #BetterCup. That is a lot of people! Every signature counts; thank you all for your support!

We want to bring your attention to a widespread annual Tim Hortons initiative. Every year, Tim Hortons promotes the very popular “roll up the rim to win” contest, where people run the chance of winning exciting prizes. This is a lot of fun for customers -- but it also means tens of thousands of cups/plastic end up in landfills and our oceans.

We would like to challenge Tim Hortons to think out of the box and promote an ecologically sound version of the contest. Could they, for example, promote a digital version of the contest? Could they promote the contest on reusable cups this year?

There are so many creative ways Canada’s favourite coffee chain could take advantage of this contest to promote a greener future. Please leave your ideas for Tim Hortons in the comment section below; we’ll make sure to share them with their leadership.

Tim Hortons accepting our challenge would be a great first step towards making their packaging and culture more environmentally-friendly!
