Hello All and thank you for signing the petition. Its growing slowly. Please send it out on your social media accounts if you are able.

Recently. Someone told me they could not sign my petition because Timeshares are not illegal. And maintenance fees are not unethical because thats how they maintain the properties. Here is my response.

Let me explain what the petition is stating. Not allowing an owner that has paid off the deed/mortgage to opt out of the contract without paying a couple years maintenance fees or more is unethical. The perpetuity clause is on a buried page in the contract that is never pointed out by the salesmen. This is the unethical part. No, it is not illegal. If it was, there would be no need for the petition. Further, if I opt out of the contract, meaning I DO NOT USE THE FACILITIES, I am not giving cause for any maintenance work to clean and prepare the properties for the next vacationer. This petition is not advocating for continued use of the property without paying maintenance fees. One more point: I and many others did not purchase a specific property, but points to use for any offered facility. How can you consider this a mortgage or a deed? Deed to what? Points that expire annually! If all of this wasn't an issue, there wouldn't be so many people supporting it.

Thanks again,

Dan
